Game Mechanics: Area 51

In addition to the game plan itself, the game mechanics are certainly the most unusual thing in Area51.

Area 51 is a card-driven strategy game. What is unusual and interesting in terms of gameplay is the multiple functions of the cards and the fact that activating a set of cards always leads to points for the other players. This creates a bit of a dilemma for the active player. A fact that the players have to incorporate strategically (with a view to active but also passive moves). On the one hand, the game thrives on the players’ interest in building their own infrastructure, and on the other hand, the focus is on the use of the point distribution mechanics.
